Amira Interiors Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 1, 2026
Effective date: July 1, 2026
This document is a detailed template tailored to how Amira Interiors operates. It is not legal advice. Please have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer before publishing, and complete every bracketed placeholder.
At Amira Interiors, your privacy matters to us as much as the spaces we help you design. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the Amira mobile application, our website at https://amirainteriors.com, and all related services (the “Services”), why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights and choices you have over your information.
This policy is issued by Amira Interiors, a company registered in Uganda with registration number [Insert registration number] (“Amira”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with how we handle personal information, please do not use the Services.

We may receive information about you from:
- Payment providers β confirmation of payment status (but not full payment instrument details).

3. Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies
3.1 What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit our website or use our app. Similar technologies include local storage objects, web beacons, pixel tags, and software development kit (SDK) tools embedded in our app. We refer to all of these collectively as “cookies” in this section.
3.2 Cookies we use
We use the following categories of cookies:
| Category | Purpose | Can you opt out? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential / Strictly Necessary | Keep you logged in, maintain your session and cart, and enable core functionality. | No β these are required for the Services to work. |
| Functional | Remember your preferences (language, currency, saved items) to personalise your experience. | Yes β but disabling them may reduce functionality. |
| Analytics | Understand how users navigate the Services so we can improve them. Data is aggregated and/or pseudonymised. | Yes β via cookie settings or your browser. |
| Marketing / Targeting | Deliver relevant promotions and measure the effectiveness of our campaigns. Used only with your consent. | Yes β withdraw consent via cookie settings at any time. |
3.3 Managing cookies
You can manage cookie preferences at any time through our in-app cookie settings (where available) or through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse, delete, or be notified before a cookie is placed. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Services. We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals from browsers, but you can use our cookie settings to control non-essential tracking.
4. Our Legal Bases for Processing Your Information
We are required by law to have a valid legal basis for processing your personal information. Depending on the specific activity, we rely on one or more of the following:
| Legal Basis | When we rely on it |
|---|---|
| Contract performance | Providing the Services you requested β creating your account, processing your order, arranging delivery or installation, and preparing quotations. |
| Legitimate interests | Improving and personalising the Services; preventing fraud and misuse; sending service-related communications; maintaining records; understanding how the Services are used; and contacting you about similar products or services where you would reasonably expect this. We balance our interests against your rights before relying on this basis. |
| Legal obligation | Complying with applicable tax, accounting, anti-money laundering, and other legal requirements; responding to lawful requests from public authorities. |
| Consent | Sending marketing emails or push notifications (where consent is required); placing non-essential cookies; processing precise location data; and any other processing for which we ask for your specific agreement. You can withdraw consent at any time β see Section 9. |
5. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Account management β to create, verify, maintain, and secure your account.
- Providing the Services β to generate design previews in the Interior Vision Studio, power the Amira assistant, respond to your enquiries, prepare quotes, process orders, and arrange delivery, installation, consultations, and appointments.
- Payments β to process deposits and payments, issue invoices, and maintain financial records.
- Customer communications β to send service messages about your account, orders, and appointments; to respond to your queries and complaints; and to keep you updated on the status of your project.
- Marketing and promotions β where you have given consent or we have a legitimate interest, to send you news, offers, and design inspiration relevant to your interests. You can opt out at any time.
- Service improvement β to analyse how users interact with the Services, identify issues, test new features, and generally make the experience better for everyone.
- Personalisation β to tailor the designs, products, and suggestions we show you based on your activity, preferences, and project history.
- Safety and security β to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorised access, and other illegal or harmful activity.
- Legal and compliance β to meet our obligations under applicable laws and regulations, including tax, accounting, anti-money laundering, and data protection laws; to respond to lawful requests from courts or public authorities; and to enforce our Terms of Service.
- Business operations β for internal record-keeping, dispute resolution, and business planning purposes.
6. Your Photos and the Interior Vision Studio
Photos you share for the Interior Vision Studio are processed by AI-assisted image technology to generate visual previews of Amira products in your space. These previews are for illustrative purposes and may be retained as part of your project history so you can revisit them later.
We may use anonymised, aggregated, or otherwise de-identified photo data to improve the accuracy and performance of our visualisation tools. We will not use identifiable photos of your home in our marketing or publicly accessible content without your separate written consent.
Please avoid including other people, sensitive documents (such as financial papers or identification), or minors in the photos you upload. If another person is visible in a photo you share, you are responsible for ensuring you have their permission to do so. If you would like us to delete a specific photo, contact us at togashitechnologies@gmail.com and we will action your request promptly.
7. The Amira Assistant and Human Follow-Up
The Amira assistant can be powered by automated technology, a human team member, or a combination of both. To provide you with the most helpful responses:
- Automated responses may be generated by AI systems trained to understand design queries and product questions. These are reviewed and improved over time.
- A member of the Amira team may review your conversation and step in to reply personally, particularly for complex queries, quotations, or project discussions. Where this happens, you may see an indication that a specialist has joined.
We keep a record of all assistant conversations. These records allow us to: follow up on your requests; maintain a history of your project discussions; improve the quality of our assistant; and meet our legal record-keeping obligations.
Please do not share highly sensitive personal information (such as financial account numbers, passwords, or health information) through the assistant.
8. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling
We use automated systems in the following ways:
- Design preview generation β the Interior Vision Studio uses AI to apply product visualisations to your photos. This is a tool to help you explore options; it does not make decisions that affect your rights.
- Product and design recommendations β we may use automated analysis of your browsing activity, saved items, and stated preferences to surface products and designs that may interest you.
- Fraud and security detection β automated systems monitor activity on the Services for patterns that suggest fraud, abuse, or unauthorised access. Where a risk is flagged, a member of our team reviews it before any significant action is taken.
We do not make legally significant decisions about you based solely on automated processing without human review. If you have concerns about any automated decision affecting you, please contact us at togashitechnologies@gmail.com.
9. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share it for third-party advertising without your consent. We share information only as described below:
9.1 Service providers and sub-processors
We engage trusted third-party companies and individuals to help us deliver the Services. These include:
- Delivery and logistics partners β to arrange and track product deliveries.
- Installation contractors β appointed by Amira to carry out on-site installation work.
- Payment processors β to securely handle payment transactions and maintain billing records.
- Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers β to store your data and run the platform reliably.
- AI and image-processing technology providers β to power the Interior Vision Studio.
- Communications platforms β for sending emails, push notifications, and in-app messages.
- Analytics providers β to help us understand usage patterns (using anonymised or aggregated data wherever possible).
- Customer support tools β to manage and log support interactions.
All service providers are contractually required to process your information only for the purposes we specify, to implement appropriate security measures, and to comply with applicable data protection laws. We do not allow them to use your data for their own unrelated purposes.
9.2 Professional advisers
We may share information with our lawyers, accountants, auditors, or insurers where necessary, subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.
9.3 Legal requirements and enforcement
We may disclose your information if we reasonably believe it is necessary to: (a) comply with applicable law, regulation, or a valid legal process such as a court order or government request; (b) enforce our Terms of Service or protect the rights, safety, and property of Amira, our customers, or the public; or (c) detect, investigate, or prevent fraudulent or illegal activity.
9.4 Business transfers
If Amira undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to equivalent privacy protections. We will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
9.5 With your consent
We may share your information with other parties where you have given your explicit consent to do so.
10. International Data Transfers
Amira is headquartered in Uganda and primarily serves customers in East Africa. Some of our technology partners and cloud service providers are located outside Uganda, including in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States. When your personal information is transferred to countries that do not provide an equivalent level of data protection to Uganda, we take appropriate safeguards to protect it, which may include:
- Standard contractual clauses approved by a relevant data protection authority.
- Adequacy decisions recognising the receiving country’s data-protection standards.
- Binding corporate rules where applicable within a group.
- Other legally approved transfer mechanisms.
You can request more information about the specific safeguards we apply to international transfers by contacting us at togashitechnologies@gmail.com.
11. How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain personal information for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. The following table summarises our general approach:
| Data type | Typical retention period | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Account details | Duration of account + 3 years after closure | Operational records, legal disputes, and compliance |
| Order and payment records | 7 years from transaction date | Tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations |
| Design previews and photos | Duration of account; earlier on request | Project reference and service improvement |
| Chat and assistant conversations | 3 years from last interaction | Service follow-up and quality assurance |
| Marketing consents and opt-outs | Until withdrawn + 3 years | Demonstrate compliance with consent requirements |
| Security and fraud logs | Up to 2 years | Fraud prevention and incident investigation |
| Cookie data (analytics) | Up to 13 months | Performance analysis and improvement |
When information is no longer required, we securely delete it or anonymise it so it can no longer be linked to you. Some information may be retained in backup systems for a limited period after deletion from our active systems before it is permanently erased.
12. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you are located and applicable law (including Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019 and equivalent legislation), you may have some or all of the following rights:
| Your right | What it means |
|---|---|
| Access | Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. |
| Rectification | Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information. You can also update many details directly in your profile settings. |
| Erasure | Ask us to delete your personal information. We will comply unless we have a legal obligation or legitimate reason to retain it. |
| Restriction | Ask us to limit how we process your information in certain circumstances β for example, while a dispute is being resolved. |
| Portability | Receive a copy of information you have provided to us in a structured, machine-readable format, or ask us to transfer it to another organisation, where technically feasible. |
| Objection | Object to our processing of your information where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis. We will stop processing unless we have compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests. |
| Withdraw consent | Where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. |
| Opt out of marketing | Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link, adjust push-notification settings in the app, or contact us directly. |
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at togashitechnologies@gmail.com with the subject line “Data Rights Request” and include your full name and the email address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before actioning your request. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law β in Uganda, ordinarily within 21 days, and in the EU/UK within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority. In Uganda, this is the Personal Data Protection Office ([Insert PDPO contact details]). In the EU, you may contact your local data protection authority. In the UK, you may contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
13. How We Keep Your Information Secure
We apply a range of technical, organisational, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption in transit using TLS/HTTPS for all data exchanged between your device and our servers.
- Encryption at rest for sensitive personal data stored in our systems.
- Access controls that restrict who within the Amira team can access your information, based on the principle of least privilege.
- Regular security assessments and vulnerability testing of our systems.
- Employee training on data security and privacy obligations.
- Secure disposal procedures for data and devices that are no longer needed.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account or information has been compromised, please contact us immediately at togashitechnologies@gmail.com.
13.1 Data breach response
In the event of a personal data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it (where required by law) and will notify you directly without undue delay if the breach is likely to result in a high risk to you. Our notification to you will describe the nature of the breach, the likely consequences, the steps we have taken to address it, and what you can do to protect yourself.
14. Children
The Services are intended for adults aged 18 or over and are not directed at children under the age of 18 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at togashitechnologies@gmail.com and we will take steps to identify and delete that information as quickly as possible. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from a child, we will delete it promptly.
15. Third-Party Links and Services
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, apps, or services β for example, social media platforms, supplier websites, or payment gateways. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Once you leave our Services, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
If you connect a third-party service (such as logging in via a social media account), that third party may share certain information with us as described in their own privacy policy. You can revoke such permissions through the third-party platform’s account settings.
16. Marketing Communications
With your consent (where required by applicable law), we may send you:
- Email newsletters and design inspiration.
- Information about new products, services, or promotions.
- Push notifications to your device (if you have enabled them).
You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by: (a) clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email; (b) adjusting push notification preferences in your device or app settings; or (c) contacting us at togashitechnologies@gmail.com.
Note that opting out of marketing communications does not affect essential service messages about your account, orders, or security β these cannot be switched off while you hold an account.
Where we contact existing customers about similar products or services without separate consent (where permitted by law), we will always give you an easy way to opt out in every message.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Services, applicable law, or our data practices. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of any update constitutes your acknowledgement of the revised policy.
